Custom Full-Suspension Bike Frame: From 3D Design to Prototype
A fully customized frame project developed from the customer’s design into a physical prototype ready for validation.
The Project
This full-suspension frame was developed specifically around the customer’s design requirements.
Rather than selecting an existing frame and making minor changes, the project started with a custom 3D design, including the frame geometry, suspension layout, pivot locations, shock mounting and rear triangle structure.
From Design to a Manufacturable Frame
A good 3D design still needs to work in real production.
Before sampling, we reviewed key structural and manufacturing details to make sure the design could be translated into a physical frame.
The focus was not simply to make a sample quickly, but to identify potential issues before they became production problems.

Key Custom Details
The prototype incorporates customer-specific features including:
- Custom frame geometry
- Suspension linkage and pivot layout
- Rear shock mounting
- Custom rear triangle
- CNC-machined components
- Cable routing and component interfaces

Prototype Validation Before Production
The completed prototype provides the next step for checking dimensions, component fit, suspension interfaces and manufacturing details before moving toward production.
For a custom frame project, finding and correcting issues at the prototype stage can significantly reduce development and production risk.
